Being Involved

In addition to the financial support St. Philip provides to many local and global agencies, St. Philippians are also actively involved with their time and talents.  Here is a sampling of some of these St. Philip organized opportunities:

  • Help pack Christmas shoe boxes for Seafarers visiting the Houston International Seafarers Center
  • Help pack Easter boxes for women in crisis at the Women’s Home
  • Christmas Families - St. Philip sponsors 15 families in need from Kid's Meals and members provide and deliver Christmas gifts, clothing, necessities and food gift cards
  • Serving breakfast to the homeless for Lord of the Streets
  • Join in packing sessions for our Kids Against Hunger Program
  • Help prepare and deliver healthy lunches to hungry pre-school aged children, living in poverty, for Kid's Meals
  • Help with the blood drive
  • Help collect and distribute back-to-school supplies to children in need with the Christian Community Service Center

The volunteer opportunities with all of our mission partners are wide and varied ~ please check with the agency’s website to identify current volunteer needs. Some of the specific things we encourage members to consider are:

  • Serve as an ambassador for Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services
  • Serve in lay pastoral care for Presbyterian Outreach to Patients
  • Being a spiritual counselor for the homeless at SEARCH
