Seafarers Int'l Christmas Boxes - 2011

We are now collecting items for the Seafarers Christmas boxes. Here are some of the items we need: Hotel samples (shampoo, conditioner, hand cream), combs, shoe polishers, wash cloths, pencils, pens, small gifts, decks of cards, paper, cards, paper clips, rubber bands, needle and thread, chap stick, cotton ball, band aids, coffee cups, new or gently used T-shirts, knitted watch caps, work socks, plastic or work gloves, plastic zip lock containers, bars of soap, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

We do not include religious items.

To wrap we need: tissue paper, tape, and Christmas paper.

We always run out of: toothpaste, razors, and large bars of deodorant soap.

We do not need shoeboxes.

If you picked up one of the small plastic boxes at the PW luncheon and have filled it with items from your desk (paper clips, post it notes, eraser, small pad of paper, rubber bands, tape, stapler, white-out, key ring, et cetera), please return it to the church office or to the Seafarers collection box in the Gathering Area in September along with your donated items from the main list above.

We will have two meetings to work on the Christmas boxes. The first meeting, Saturday, November 12 we will organize the items (and discover what needs purchasing) and the second meeting, Sunday, November 13, we will pack and wrap the boxes. Our goal is between 75-100 boxes. Please watch your Philip Eye for the exact times when those events will take place.

If you need a pick-up of items please leave a message for Sue Howard at the church office, 713-622-4807.
