PNC Announces Search for Senior Pastor - Head of Staff

St Philip Presbyterian Church of Houston is currently searching for a senior pastor (head of staff). The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) was elected by the congregation on January 30, 2011. We have been prayerfully and diligently working through the process as we seek God’s call for a new pastor for St. Philip. Throughout our work, we have been meeting with our liaison from the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry, Mrs. Anne Wilson, an Elder at Northwoods Presbyterian and a former Director of Christian Education here at St. Philip.

After much hard work and study, our Church Information Form (CIF) has been approved! The CIF is a document that lays out who we are as a congregation and what we are looking for in a pastor. The PNC wrote the CIF this spring, based on input from the church-wide survey and the Draft CIF Task Force. Once completed, the CIF went to the Session of St. Philip and the Committee on Ministry of the Presbytery of New Covenant for approval. Now that the CIF is officially approved, the PNC moves forward to the next stage of our work. We will begin to seek potential candidates for the position and to review the Pastor Information Forms (PIFs) of those who apply.

If you would like to recommend the name of a pastor that you think the St. Philip PNC should consider, please get in touch with any member of the PNC. Or, you can encourage the pastor in question to send her or his PIF to our PNC for consideration. (Please note – Because the pastor nominating process is a confidential one, we will not be able to provide information on the status of any prospective pastors.)
