Music plays a big part in our worship at St. Philip, under the leadership
of our two renowned musical artists, Keith Weber and Dr. Matthew Dirst. Even our Pastor, Bill Poe, plays the guitar.

The St. Philip Chancel Choir

Meets Weds., 7:00-9:00 pm, Choir Room
This choir for adults and high school students presents anthems and helps lead worship most Sunday mornings. Its anthem repertoire ranges from Renaissance and Baroque motets through contemporary works and music from the spiritual and gospel traditions. In addition, the choir presents major works in worship several times a year. This group is a musical fellowship open to singers at all levels.

These choirs develop singing skills and foster an understanding of music as a part of worship. The choirs participate in worship and special music programs throughout the year.

 

HANDBELL CHOIRS


Bell Canto (Handbells)
Keith Weber, Director
Mon., 7:00 until 8:15 pm, Room 201
This five octave handbell choir is open to ringers with intermediate to advanced skills. Bell Canto regularly participates in worship services. One or more concerts may be presented during the year. Opportunities are provided to attend local and regional workshops and festivals. Commitment to Bell Canto may be for regular or substitute membership.

Jubilate Ringers (Grades 3-5)
Youth Ringers (Grades 6-12)

These chiming and handbell choirs teach ringing techniques, musicality, and ensemble skills.
