Ways To Serve At St. Philip

Serve as an Usher

Ushers help those attending services by handing out bulletins and help any one in the narthex who are in need of assistance, from needing large print bulletins, to wireless headphones.  Ushers also help collect the offering that is taken during worship on Sunday mornings.  If you would like to serve as an usher, please contact Worship and Music Committee Chair, Gary Whitney.

Serve on a Committee

As a presbyterian church, St. Philip primarily operates with the direction of church committees.  Members and those who regularly attend and are interested in participating, are welcome to serve as members on a committee.  To do so, please visit our leadership page for a list of committees and the session members who lead.  Reach out to the listed committee chair.

If you have any further questions, please contact welcome@saintphilip.net.

Serve as a Greeter

Greeters serve as a welcoming face to those entering the premises on Sunday mornings.  You will find them primarily at one of the four main entrances to the building where our Sanctuary is located.  While greeters are mainly pooled or recruited from a rotation of church committees, substitutes are always a welcome resource.  If you are willing to open doors and greet people as they enter, please contact the Welcome and Membership Committee Chair, Selena Biringer.

Serve as an Office Volunteer

Office volunteers help with basic church office tasks such as answering the phones and directing calls to the appropriate staff person.  They also can help with various projects, tasks that take a load off the amount of work Lorrie Castle has to handle.

If interested, please contact welcome@saintphilip.net.

Help with the Community Garden

Do you have a green thumb?  Help in the community garden where we grow produce that is given to our local mission partner, Christian Community Center for their food pantry. Read more about the community garden here. For those interested and willing to help, contact Cathy Patterson.

Serve in a Mission Project
